This position typically reports to a Program Director, Assistant Program Director, or other appropriate project administrator within the unit. A Community Outreach Caseworker may be assigned duties with a different focus than another Caseworker, but the duties are interrelated and contribute to the purpose/goals of the program. One caseworker may concentrate on educating pregnant or postpartum women on infant mortality and morbidity, while another caseworker my focus on addressing the psychosocial problems of perinatal depression in women. This position will go into the community - into client homes, to community gathering places, churches, and other local spots to locate and interview the clients or potential clients who most need their services. Although each position is responsible for its assigned cases, the Community Outreach Caseworker also serves as a team member to develop multidisciplinary solutions to client problems.
