Position Summary The Apprentice A Lineman is an entry level line worker position to construct and repair electrical transmission systems. You will work on energized and de ‑ energized powerlines and may be required to travel to different job sites, including out ‑ of ‑ state locations, as operational and customer needs dictate. You will report to the Foreman. Essential Functions Perform new construction, maintain and repair energized and de ‑ energized transmission systems while putting safety first. Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware. Comprehensive knowledge of switching and tagging procedures, EPZ -grounding and understanding induced voltage on de-energized lines using the proper tools and test equipment. Essential Functions  Perform new construction, maintain and repair de ‑ energized powerlines while putting safety first. Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware. You will perform rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment. Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order. Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.
