Leads pharmacy education, staff development, and academic detailing initiatives that promote evidence-based medication use and professional growth. Partners with clinical and operational teams to improve prescribing practices, workflows, quality, safety, compliance, and patient outcomes. There is an internal candidate being considered.

The Assistant Patient Care Manager (A- PCM ) supports the patient care manager ( PCM ) whose human resource span of control exceeds acceptable UKHC standards. He/She will provide supervision, coaching, mentoring and opportunities for growth to nursing staff and assist in the day to day management of the nursing unit(s). The A- PCM assists with scheduling, payroll management, monitoring of staff competencies, evaluation of staff performance, and special projects as assigned by the PCM . He/she will serve as the manager for clerical staff as appropriate on the assigned unit(s). Increased supervision and staff coaching/mentoring is associated with decreased staff turnover and improved patient outcomes. This position will have oversight in the MICU at both Chandler and Good Samaritan Hospitals. Time will be split between the two locations to provide appropriate coverage.

The primary responsibilities of the Practice Manager I/ UKHC are to direct the clinic’s business, technical, and nursing support activities. This individual is responsible for the successful management of all assigned clinics. In conjunction with the Ambulatory Operations Director, they oversee administrative functions including operations, marketing, facilities, revenue cycle, human resources, planning and development. The Practice Manager I/ UKHC will implement adjustments to the clinic operation that will support enterprise-wide initiatives.

Communicate regularly with residents and their family about Plans of Care, PT, OT and other treatment protocols. Attends and participates in morning meetings/stand up to facilitate communications with the team. Answer residents' questions about their care, treatment plans, illness progression and all other issues so they feel safe and secure in our care. Monitor and adjust resident's statuses based on changing needs and conditions. Organize and prioritize daily work by assessing new, current and discharging residents needs in area(s) of responsibility. Complete documentation as required. Performs utilization review activities to provide resident appropriate, timely and cost effective care. Coordinate care with resident, care providers, facilities financial services, and third party payers. Oversee all admissions and discharge activities.
