Providence Community Health Overview: Under the supervision and direction of the Risk and HIPAA Privacy Officer, the Manager of Health Information is responsible for the management of the Health Information Management (HIM) department operations, its functions and activities (i.e., scanning, audits, record retention and destruction, release of information, etc.), implementing effective policies and procedures, and monitoring of HIM activities to assure that all processes are value added and completed in an error-free, quality fashion. In addition, this role is responsible for managing and securing patient records in compliance with Rhode Island State and federal law for paper and electronic storage of patient information.
