Nurses in home care have autonomy in practice and use a wide range of clinical skills and do a variety of procedures (IVs/PICC dressing changes, wound care, blood draws, sterile procedures, catheter for example).
In the patient’s home, nurses can provide one-on-one, individualized, patient-centered care for the patient and family. Nurses work closely with the patient and family to decrease barriers to care.
