Overview: The recovery navigator is a peer recovery specialist who helps patients access evidence-based treatment for substance use disorders with a focus on low-threshold access to MAR (medication assisted recovery), treatment programs, and harm-reduction, specifically those who are homeless, facing homelessness, and incarcerated. Qualifications: Certifications: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) within 1 year - Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IAODAPCA), Other Requirements Nonjudgmental, energetic, positive, harm-reduction approach to assisting patients with Substance Use Disorder (SUD).
