• Provides medication services and direct resident care • Responsible for the daily operation of the medication room and medication services in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, the nurse practice act, and facility policies and procedures • Accurately and safely prepare, administer, assist with the self-administration of, observe and verify, and document oral and/or topical medications ordered by the attending physician or Medical Director • Verify the identity of the resident before administering medication treatment • Follow facility procedures allowing residents to self administer medications • Follow the labeling policies and practices of the facility and ensure that all medications administered are properly labeled • Maintain accurate records of medication and treatment services provided or omitted, including controlled substances, in each resident's clinical record • Follow facility procedures in regard to charting medications and perform administrative...
