*POSITION SUMMARY:* The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) works in a team relationship with the Registered Physical Therapist (PT) in carrying out the physical therapy program in patient’s home or place of residence. Adheres to all BVNA policies including, but not limited to, Confidentiality Agreement, Personnel Policies, Clinical Policies and Procedures, professional code of ethics and practice standards. *RESPONSIBILITIES:* Reviews referral and/or physician orders to determine physical therapy treatment required. Documents treatments, responses, and progress according to BVNA charting protocols. Communicates weekly schedule in writing to Rehabilitation Manager. Communicates with PT to receive periodic supervision that ensures safety and welfare of patients. Administers manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
