Overview:
The EMG Technical Specialist performs basic to advanced nerve conduction studies (NCS) in the laboratory under the indirect supervision of an EDX physician. The technologist has completed formal NCS training and holds an active registry as an RNCST or CNCT.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements::
Education:
Associate degree required. Graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited END training program is highly desirable.
Credentials:
Active RNCST or CNCT required, or must be registry eligible and credentialed within 12 months. A signed statement of understanding will be required.
Experience:
Minimum of 3�5 years of experience in NCS modalities is preferred. Experience in other nerve/muscle testing may be considered i.e.. Intra-Operative Neurophysiological Monitoring.
Substitution:
If the candidate does not have an associate degree or higher, an NCS credential from AAET or ABEM may substitute for completion of an END training program.
