The Police Officer is the second level of a six-level public safety - police officer series. Incumbents perform commission full performance level police officer duties in controlling and analyzing crime scenes, establishing and maintaining order, identifying and enforcing campus violations, and conducting proactive public relations with students, the public, and employees. The Police Officer is distinguished from the Police Officer in Training by certification as an Arizona Peace Officer and responsibility for working independently on an assigned shift. The Police Officer is distinguished from the Corporal who has squad leader responsibility over Community Service and Police Officers.
The work schedule for this position is flexible and may include working evenings and weekends and local travel.
