Department: Police Salary: $16.83/hourly Description: JOB SUMMARY The Police Cadet is an entry-level, non-sworn position with the University of Houston-Downtown Police Department. This role is designed for highly qualified candidates who will be hired as university employees and sponsored to attend an accredited police academy to obtain Texas peace officer certification. Police Cadets must successfully complete the department's full police officer selection and hiring process. Candidates are required to sign an educational agreement and pass all phases of the selection process prior to enrollment in the Criminal Justice Training Center Basic Peace Officer Certification Program.
