GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB :
The purpose of the Shipping Lead is to assign tasks and be the main contact for the department, insure we are packing and shipping the correct product to our customers in safe and professional manner. Maintaining packing materials, equipment, accounting issues, maintenance logs, sign in sheets, rosters and matrixes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Generate pick list thru (allocations) throughout the day to maximize shipments
Make sure all those processing pick lists are aware of 1) Terms (accounting terms), 2) Ship Via (collect-prepaid-add), 3) Notes on pick list that need attention, example: Ship Complete, Contact carrier information, special labeling, taxable shipment, international dollar values, etc.
With pick list when unit is packed, verify part number and serial number by matching pick list to carton box label. This is a must!...
