Locksmith II maintains locks, keys, and mechanical door hardware. Primary job functions require exercising some independent judgment, certain degree of creativity and latitude. A variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance duties are performed to carry out the essential functions of this position, and Locksmith II should have experience and/or training in various skilled craft areas. The technician may also be responsible for escorting and supervising contractor activities occurring on campus as requested by supervisor. This position requires knowledge gained through prior experience with locks, keys, mechanical door hardware, and doors. Utilizes familiarity with a variety of the field's standard concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the advanced functions of the job.
