Purpose of the Position Leads garage operations to ensure low cost, safe, clean, efficient and dependable equipment for the operating departments. Days- Wednesday 12pm-6pm and Thursday-Saturday 6am-6pm The purpose of this position is to maintain the Company fleet in accordance with established schedules and all government regulations. ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Directs the activities of other hourly diesel mechanics. Ensures that the mechanics are following company policies, using the time clock correctly, and performing other duties as instructed. Works with the supervisor in order to keep him informed of the progress of the shop and production. Also performs other diesel mechanic duties. Accomplishes tire work and light maintenance on Company fleet vehicles. (Lights, mud flaps, minor wiring, hoses, belts, etc.) Rewires trucks, trailers, loaders, etc. Reads hydraulic pressure gauges, replace hoses, couplers & pumps as well as troubleshoot and make the necessary repairs as needed.
