TRADES WORKER The essential function of the position within the organization is to perform skilled work in the maintenance of facilities. The position is responsible for performing carpentry, electrical, HVAC and plumbing tasks in the maintenance, repair and construction of assigned facilities. The position works under direct supervision according to some procedures; decides how and when to complete tasks. RESPONSIBILITIES Perform maintenance and repairs of heating and air-conditioning units, including changing belts and filters, performing ductwork, repairing/replacing compressors, recovering Freon, and charging A/C systems. Perform electrical repair and maintenance tasks, such as running and repairing electrical lines, replacing receptacles and conduits, and replacing bulbs and ballasts in fluorescent light fixtures.
