*Position Overview*

Healing Reins Equine Assisted Services is seeking a compassionate, creative, flexible, and collaborative *Occupational Therapist, COTA or Physical Therapist* to join our growing pediatric clinical team.

This is a unique opportunity to practice therapy in a setting that extends beyond the traditional clinic. Our outdoor-based approach incorporates nature, movement, play, animals, and real-world experiences to support meaningful participation, development, regulation, mobility, independence, and connection.

Our therapists work throughout our beautiful 30-acre ranch in Tumalo, just outside Bend, Oregon. The property includes dedicated treatment rooms, a therapy gym, indoor and covered arenas, accessible pathways, outdoor spaces, and a variety of natural environments that support engaging and meaningful therapy.

*About Healing Reins*

Healing Reins is a nonprofit organization providing adaptable equine- and outdoor-based therapeutic services that support healing, growth, and belonging. We serve individuals of all abilities through occupational therapy, physical therapy, mental health services, adaptive horsemanship, and community-based programs.

Our pediatric clinical services continue to grow, and we are looking for an Occupational Therapist, COTA or Physical Therapist who is excited to practice creatively, think beyond the traditional clinic model, and help build something meaningful.

The selected therapist will have the opportunity to help children develop functional skills, confidence, independence, regulation, strength, mobility, and meaningful connections while working alongside a multidisciplinary team in an environment where nature, animals, movement, and play are part of everyday practice.

*Position Responsibilities*

* Provide individualized, evidence-based occupational or physical therapy services to pediatric clients.
* Complete evaluations, establish individualized plans of care, and document client progress.
* Develop functional goals in partnership with children and their families.
* Design creative and meaningful interventions using the clinic, therapy gym, outdoor spaces, natural environment, movement, play, and animals when clinically appropriate.
* Incorporate equine movement or equine-assisted activities when appropriate to the therapist’s discipline, training, and the needs of the client.
* Collaborate with families, caregivers, schools, medical providers, and other members of the Healing Reins team.
* Work alongside occupational therapy, physical therapy, mental health, adaptive horsemanship, and equine professionals.
* Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.
* Follow all professional, organizational, safety, confidentiality, and ethical requirements.
* Participate in team meetings, case consultation, continuing education, and program development.
* Contribute to the continued growth of Healing Reins’ pediatric therapy services.
* Help create a welcoming, inclusive, and relationship-centered environment for clients, families, volunteers, and staff.

*Qualifications*

Candidates must meet the qualifications for their respective discipline.

*Occupational Therapist candidates:*

* Graduate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
* Current Oregon Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
* Current NBCOT certification.
* COTA

*Physical Therapist candidates:*

* Graduate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
* Current Oregon Physical Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure.

*All candidates:*

* Pediatric experience is preferred.
* Strong communication, organization, and clinical documentation skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
* Comfortable working around animals and in changing indoor and outdoor environments.
* Able to navigate uneven terrain and adapt to the active nature of a working ranch.
* Experience with neurodevelopmental conditions, sensory-informed care, trauma-informed care, animal-assisted services, equine movement, or nature-based therapy is a plus.
* Equine experience is welcomed but not required. Training and support will be provided.
