Position Summary
The role involves performing high-quality, non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound examinations in vascular and/or cardiac imaging. You will be responsible for obtaining diagnostic-quality images and clinical information while delivering compassionate, professional, and patient-centered care.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform non-invasive vascular and/or echocardiographic examinations according to established protocols.
Produce high-quality diagnostic images and clinical data using ultrasound and related equipment.
Obtain an appropriate patient history and relevant clinical information before each examination.
Verify that appropriate supporting information and documentation are available for the examination.
Explain examination procedures clearly to patients, family members, and healthcare staff as appropriate.
Coordinate add-on and urgent examinations efficiently to maintain patient flow.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure necessary supplies are available.
Operate imaging equipment safely and appropriately.
Follow departmental quality-control standards and participate in quality-improvement initiatives.
Complete required continuing education and maintain applicable professional credentials.
Participate in research or specialized procedures when applicable.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Ability to communicate effectively with physicians, hospital leadership, technologists, and other healthcare professionals.
Current knowledge of clinical and technological advances in cardiac and/or vascular sonography.
Strong attention to detail and ability to consistently produce accurate, high-quality diagnostic studies.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
Education
Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or ultrasound training program.
Maintain continuing education requirements applicable to professional certification and credentialing organizations.
Licensure & Certifications
ARDMS – Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
ARDMS – Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
CCI – Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS)
CCI – Registered Vascular Sonographer (RVS)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
Additional Clinical Requirements
Establishing peripheral IV access.
Administering ultrasound-enhancing agents (UEAs), such as Definity, in accordance with applicable policies and scope of practice.
Performing and assisting with agitated saline/bubble studies.
Following all applicable medication, contrast-agent, safety, and patient-monitoring protocols.
