*Job Overview*
The Warehouse/ Tool Crib Manager (WTM) at Brookhaven Electric manages daily warehouse logistics and maintains high-value tool and consumable inventories for field technicians. This role collaborates closely with the Purchasing Agent (PA) to ensure precise material tracking, cost control, and seamless material staging for Project Managers and foreman.
*Key Responsibilities:*
Daily Operations & Logistics
* *Facility Security: *Complete facility opening and closing procedures, securing all gates, roll-up doors, and the tool crib daily.
* *Morning Staging: *Assist foreman with morning vehicle loading to ensure correct tools and materials are deployed.
* *Receiving Logistics:* Process daily freight (UPS, FedEx, LTL) by verifying carton counts, inspecting product conditions, and reconciling packing slips against PO/Job numbers.
* *Material Handling:* Operate a fork lift safely to load, unload, stack, and move heavy material pallets.
* *Documentation & Sorting: *Label all received items with job identifiers, route signed paperwork to the receiving basket, and text confirmation photos directly to the designated PM or foreman.
* *Warehouse Upkeep:* Maintain a clean, safe workspace by keeping driveways, walkways, and pallet movement zones free of clutter.
Tool Crib & Inventory Management
* *Digital Tracking: *Execute all tool check-outs, consumable tracking, and asset transfers using the *SMTB app* to maintain real-time accountability.
* *Staging & Fulfillment: *Prep, tag, and stage tools requested via the app for remote pickup, or confirm loans instantly for on-site employee scans.
* *Asset Audits: *Conduct periodic inventory audits through the SMTB platform to track location and prevent asset loss.
* *Onboarding & Offboarding:* Coordinate tool allocations for new hires and audit/reclaim company assets from departing personnel.
Material Returns & Tool Maintenance
* *Job Returns: *Process field-returned materials by coordinating with the PA to determine if items should be returned to vendors or added to warehouse stock.
* *System Credits: *Log retained materials back into the SMTB app to credit the specific job and make stock visible for future use.
* *Defect Management: *Identify broken equipment, update app status to "under virtual repair," and coordinate off-site servicing, repair drop offs, or "deleted" disposition with the PA.
Position Qualifications
* *Licensing: *Valid *Drivers License *with a clean driving record required.
* *Certification: *Valid OSHA-complaint *Forklift Certification* required.
* *Experience: *Proven experience in industrial warehouse logistics or tool crib management (electrical background preferred).
* *Software: *Proficiency with mobile-asset tracking software and digital inventory workflows (experience with *SMTB* is a plus).
* *Communication: *Strong communication skills for daily cross-departmental updates via phone calls, text, photo documentation, and email.
* *Physical: *Ability to routinely meet the physical demands of loading materials, organizing pallets, and standing for extended shifts.
