Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and efficient Associate Veterinarian to join our high-volume spay and neuter team. The Associate Veterinarian will focus on performing high-quality sterilization surgeries for cats and dogs while maintaining the highest standards of patient care, safety, and humane treatment.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform high-volume spay and neuter surgeries for cats and dogs using safe, efficient surgical techniques.
* Conduct pre-operative physical examinations to ensure patients are healthy for anesthesia and surgery.
* Oversee anesthesia protocols and ensure proper patient monitoring throughout surgical procedures.
* Diagnose and manage minor medical conditions encountered during intake or surgery when appropriate.
* Ensure compliance with California Veterinary Medical Board regulations and professional standards of care.
* Maintain accurate and timely medical records for all patients.
* Participate in maintaining a clean, safe, and organized surgical environment.
Qualifications
* Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD) from an accredited veterinary school.
* Current California veterinary license in good standing.
* DEA license is required.
* Strong surgical and anesthesia skills.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
* Commitment to animal welfare.
Preferred Experience
* High-quality/high-volume spay and neuter training or experience.
* Shelter medicine
* Experience working with feral/community cats.
Work Schedule
* Monday through Thursday
* Early morning surgical drop-off schedule
* No weekend shifts
