PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. Manages day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices. Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories. Collaborates on routine projects and procedures. Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions.
• Manages daily laboratory operations of a division, department, function, or program, including conducting and overseeing quality assurance and quality control.
• Collaborates to develop routine projects and procedures. Researches, evaluates, and repairs specialized and routine products and equipment as needed.
• Maintains and adapts scientific equipment for experimental needs of the department. Troubleshoots, installs, and adapts electronic devices and other samples for research investigations.
• Confers with researchers and faculty concerning research needs and methods.
• Prepares budget requests and manages approved budget.
• Keeps accurate and timely data logbooks.
• Managing the mammalian specimen colony is a critical part of this position.
• Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations for waste disposal; acts as department safety officer
