Under general supervision of Manager, Chief Technologist (as applicable), and under the direction of a radiologist, can perform diagnostic ultrasound and vascular ultrasound procedures on infant, pediatric, adult and geriatric patients on designated areas of the body as requested by a physician.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to
1. Performs a variety of Diagnostic Ultrasound exams and procedures to produce images for the diagnosis and treatment of medical disorders.
2. Obtains and documents necessary patient information or history in order to perform appropriate exam or procedure.
3. Performs all Ultrasound exams with 100% accuracy.
4. Using the Radiology Information System (RIS) tracks patients with 100% accuracy 98-100% of the time for the entire period the patient is in the department from patient arrival, through the beginning and completion of the exam to the departure from the department.
5. Utilizing the PACS (Picture Archive Communication System) Ultra Sound work list, determines with 100% accuracy patient demographics and accession number.
6. Ensures quality control of exams by using PACS.
7. Evaluates images for diagnostic purposes, recognizing anatomy and pathology to determine need of additional images.
8. Accurately follows department standards and protocols.
9. Maintains Licensure and credentials as required by governing bodies.
10. Maintains at all times a clean and safe environment for patients and colleagues.
11. Readily and willingly contributes the team approach to provide optimal quality care for patients.
12. Maintains technical efficiency in the operation of US diagnostic equipment.
13. Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles and Mission Statement into daily activities.
14. Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
15. Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
16. Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.

3. Cleaning and stocking rooms/ or notifying Team Leader of need.
4. Assisting in the training of Ultrasound students
5. Assisting the support staff as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Two year AMA accredited School of Diagnostic Ultra Sonography or grandfathered into profession with the ability to display competencies.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: RDMS required. Must attain RVT or RVS certification within 18 months of hire. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Must be proficient in the use of Ultrasound equipment and competent in recognizing anatomy/pathology.
Experience: 1-2 years in a large hospital setting preferred. Will train new graduate.
Certifications/Licenses:
Basic Life Support (BLS);
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) within one year of hire
Pay Range:
$46.00 - $68.35The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
Anna Jaques Hospital is a 123 bed community hospital serving 17 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley .
