Echo Ultrasound Tech – Cardiac Sonographer

Job Description

Join our team as an Echo Ultrasound Tech / Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist and use your expertise to operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, compassionately prepare patients for echocardiogram procedure, and produce detailed images of the heart for interpretation by healthcare teams.


Minimum Requirements:

  • ARDMS-RDMS/ARDMS-RCS/ARDMS-RDCS or CCI cardiac sonography certification required (ARDMS-RDS or RDCSS accepted).
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care echocardiography experience required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Comfortable performing pediatric echocardiogram scans. (Hard stop: must be comfortable doing Peds scan.)
  • Experience with transthoracic echo (TTE), transesophageal echo (TEE), stress echo, bubble studies, and peri-procedural imaging (pre/post Cath, CABG, TAVR, Watchman) preferred. Send for manager approval if missing this experience.
  • Experience assisting with procedures such as pericardiocentesis and providing accurate ejection fraction measurements.
  • Experience working in high-volume echo departments (typical departmental volume 40–60 studies per day) preferred.
  • Comfortable producing preliminary findings in a modifiable report for physician review.
  • Willingness to orient new hires preferred.


Assignment Details

  • Facility type: Hospital.
  • Shift name: Days.
  • Shift hours: 0800-1830.
  • Shift type: 10-hour day shift, modified self-schedule made in 6-week increments.
  • Schedule: 4x10 pattern with one night call shift per week (EOS until 0700 next morning) and on-call coverage as needed; weekend rotation not required at this time.
  • Orientation: NE0 orientation with remainder of first week on unit and a buddy period during orientation.
  • Unit details: 2 echo suites and 2 TEE rooms. Will perform bedside inpatient scans.
  • Floating: None.
  • Technology/equipment: EPIC EMR and Philips/GE cardiovascular imaging systems (Intellaspace/ISCV/PACS).
  • Parking: Free. Scrub color: Black.
