Integrated Network Server Unit team at Honeywell Aerospace, where we design, develop, and integrate highly complex systems for our Anthem Next Generation Avionics project. We are on the lookout for a highly experienced Systems Engineer who is passionate about developing and defining systems requirements that meet the evolving needs of our customers.
In this role, you will serve as a technical leader for the Anthem Integrated Network Server Unit, shaping the system architecture, driving certification‑ready execution, and ensuring the INSU delivers robust connectivity and compute capabilities across the Anthem ecosystem. You will partner closely with Integrated Systems, hardware, software, cybersecurity, suppliers, and certification stakeholders to bring a safety‑critical, production‑ready platform from development through certification and into service.
You will report directly to our Sr. Software Engineering Manager, and you will work at our Phoenix, Arizona location on a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the Anthem Integrated Systems to ensure integrated system requirements fully meet INSU MRD, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Lead the Anthem INSU subsystem through development, validation, verification, and certification in accordance with the ARP4754A development plan.
- Implement system architecture and software security measures in compliance with DO‑326B / DO‑356A (SAL 3).
- Provide technical oversight of hardware development, factory processes, qualification, and serial production of the INSU LRU to meet system requirements and DO‑160G compliance.
- Lead INSU TSO‑C109 compliance activities and TSO certification submittals.
- Maintain strong working relationships with hardware and software suppliers and vendors (e.g., NXP, SXM).
- Support ISC in transitioning the INSU from development to production.
- Drive platform enhancements and system performance improvements, including data‑loading performance.
- Drive maturity of new functionality and expanded scope, including ForeFlight capability.
- Resolve critical defects and problem reports while meeting quality and reliability targets.
- Lead the INSU requirements traceability matrix and author the System Accomplishment Summary.
- Provide oversight of INSU SE Linux core software development and INSU module integration for compute and apps.
Qualifications Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.Must Have- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering for complex, safety‑critical aerospace or avionics systems.
- Strong experience leading systems through the full development lifecycle, including requirements, architecture, integration, verification, and certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ARP4754A and experience supporting certified avionics programs.
- Experience with avionics networking, integrated computing platforms, or server‑based avionics systems.
- Familiarity with hardware qualification, environmental testing, and production transition.
- Proven ability to lead technically across multi‑disciplinary teams and interfaces.
We Value- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Experience with TSO certification, including preparation of certification data packages.
- Background in cybersecurity for airborne systems, including DO‑326B / DO‑356A.
- Experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA), networked avionics, or cloud‑connected aircraft systems.
- Familiarity with ForeFlight and connected flight deck ecosystems.
- Experience working with external suppliers on hardware and software development.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and certification authorities.
