Job Description

Job Summary:
This is a full-time, paid trainee position where you’d be hired as an employee while participating in a structured Behavioral Health Technician Development Program. You’d work alongside nursing staff to assist in meeting clients’ biopsychosocial, developmental, spiritual, and cultural needs while being an important part of the treatment team.

Trainee Program & Employment Details:

Behavioral Health Technician Trainee (Night Shift Only)
(Touchette has 8 slots for May)

💲 Pay: $17.98/hour
🕒 Schedule: Full-time, night shift – 11pm–7am
(Training is during the day until the end of June, but you’d work nights after training)

What this is:
This is a paid training program where you’d work while learning to become a Behavioral Health Technician (and work toward CNA skills). No experience needed and you’d be trained on the job.

Start date is May 11th. You’d begin training with Midwest Career Source (Belleville) from May 18th – June 30th, then you’d take your CNA certification and continue employment with Touchette afterward.

What you’d do after training:

  • Work with nurses to care for patients and support their daily needs
  • Monitor patient behavior, safety, and overall well-being
  • Take basic vitals (blood pressure, temperature, etc.)
  • Document patient updates and report any changes
  • Help maintain a safe and structured environment

What to know:

  • You’d be hired as a paid employee from day one
  • Training starts mid-May (orientation + hands-on program)
  • You’d need to complete the training program to continue employment
  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • No prior experience or certification needed

Pay Schedule (non-negotiable; flat rates):

  • May 11th – June 1st: $17.98/hour
  • After June 1st: $18.47/hour
  • After CNA certification: $19.47/hour

Night shift - 11p - 7am (Training during the day and after the program you would work nights.
