Responsibilities:A key role with the largest Jones Act employer with a diverse fleet of vessels. Crowley is actively hiring a Chief Mate, for our Ship Assist operation in the Pacific Northwest. This position does require the candidate to join the International Organization of Master, Mates, and Pilots union as part of their onboarding after accepting a job offer.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:
· Mate 1600T Ocean
· Mate of Towing Oceans
· Current RADAR/ARPA and FCC certificates
· STCW endorsements to match license including but not limited to advanced firefighting
· Vessel Security Officer, Officer In Charge of Navigation Watch
· Successful completion of a simulation-based Fleet Navigation Assessment
· Qualified on Voith and ASD propulsion within Harbor Services
· Valid TWIC
· Valid Passport – must be able to travel internationally with no felonies, DUI or other convictions which would restrict entry into Canada or other nations
Preferred:
· Mate 1600T Oceans
· Master of Towing
Minimum Experience:
· Three calendar years of experience with Crowley as a deck officer
· Fully qualified for work in Puget Sound Ship Assist & Escort service as a Master or Mate on tractor tugs
· Preferred: Proven ability to handle vessels in a high-volume port that has diverse vessel traffic
Minimum Eligibility:
· Exemplary safety and accident record
· Exemplary employee performance reviews
· All Crowley training and medical requirements are satisfied
Rotation: 2 weeks on 2 weeks off
Compensation: As per MMP Contract or Administrative Conditions. Approx. 725/day
