Job Description
As a Software Engineer II here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software solutions that support aerospace applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products that meet customer and business requirements.
You will report directly to our Sr. Software Engineering Manager and you’ll work out of our Phoenix, AZ location on a Hybrid work schedule. External hires will begin with 90 days on site before transitioning to a 3/2 hybrid schedule.
In this role, you will impact the development of innovative aerospace software systems that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and performance across the aviation industry.

Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and test software applications for aerospace systems
• Collaborate with hardware and systems engineers to integrate software with embedded systems
• Participate in code reviews and implement software testing procedures to ensure quality
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
• 2+ years of experience in software development, preferably in embedded or aerospace software environments
• Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and embedded systems integration
• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Knowledge of software debugging tools and version control systems like Git
WE VALUE
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Experience programming in Ada for safety-critical aerospace systems
• Experience working in aerospace or defense industries
• Familiarity with model-based design and simulation tools
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
• Passion for innovation, problem-solving, and continuous learning
