Job Description This position will be responsible for repairing, rebuilding, troubleshooting, and rigging up drilling rig electrical and control system for drilling rigs in the shop and yard. Individual will be responsible for managing yard helpers assisting in the processes and project managing (tracking hours, identifying & ordering parts, documenting processes and procedures). Individual must be team player, organized, meet deadlines, and handle highly stressful situations. Electrical, hydraulics, and mechanical expertise is essential to the success of this position

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- 4 Years experience as electrician in the drilling industry
- Must be computer literate, have ability to analyze and report to management, and able to multi-task.
- Fluent in English. Ability to read and write, comprehend complex instructions, write short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and compute percentages.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of using Microsoft word and Excel.
- Computer skills and ability to learn workorder and project management specific software
Preferred Qualifications - Technical certification in Electrical Studies
- Basic understanding of drilling rig equipment

Responsibilities - Rebuilding/refurbing electrical systems
- Manage documentation required for tracking and verifying rebuilds and repair
- Delegate tasks to shop helpers and other technicians
- Manage parts and assemblies required for rebuild (required parts lists, reordering inventory, outsourcing work).
- Assist field level tech with troubleshooting issues when the expertise is needed
- Troubleshoot electrical issues on rig control systems
- Commission generators
- Fix simple issues with generator controls
- Fix simple issues with VFD drives and controls
- Calibrate sensors via HMI
- Occasional travel to deploy refurbished or rebuilt electrical systems
- Customer relations
- Maintain company issued tools and be knowledgeable and skillful in the use of these tools
- Compliance with safety standards, regulations, reporting and certifications
- Complete required paperwork, documentation and billing accurately and timely
- Utilization of time management
