The primary responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant is to provide excellence in the Physical Therapy Standard of Practice while demonstrating the HealthQuest Physical Therapy philosophy of care. It is also the responsibility of the Physical Therapist Assistant to maintain a full patient load while keeping up with the documentation requirements.

Qualifications:
Degree in PTA
Licensed PTA
APTA Membership – provided by HealthQuest
The physical demands required of this position involve extensive standing, walking, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities:
Provides skillful patient treatment in accordance with HealthQuest philosophy of care.
Completes progress notes and care plan notes in the established format and in compliance with HealthQuest quality assurance standards.
Provides leadership, guidance, and supervision to Exercise Specialists who assist with patient activities, ensure patient safety, proper use of equipment, and proper performance of exercise through careful instruction and correction.
Participates in the peer review audit process.
Creates a Home Exercise Program for each patient.
Engages in internal marketing strategies to attract new patients.
Maintains good relationships with referring physicians, and proactively handles misunderstandings as they arise.
Communicates effectively with both patient and coverage therapist in preparation for scheduled time off.
Maintains commitment to continuous professional development and is actively engaged in the Professional Development Program and/or ongoing clinical education endeavors.
