Position: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Summary
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for staff assignments and the overall supervision of resident care, in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role works under the direction of the RN Supervisor, Director of Nursing, and/or Administrator to ensure the highest level of quality care is delivered at all times.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN) or an approved Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program
Current, active LPN or RN license in the state of practice
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to supervise and collaborate with professional and non-professional staff
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
General Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
Complete all required documentation related to admissions, discharges, transfers, and ongoing resident care; ensure proper filing and communication with appropriate departments
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician
Coordinate and assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges, including transportation arrangements as needed
Provide skilled nursing services such as catheterization, tube feeding, suctioning, wound care, specimen collection, and end-of-life care in accordance with facility policies
Supervision & Leadership
Assign and oversee nursing staff to ensure appropriate care delivery
Collaborate with facility consultants and implement recommended changes as directed
Investigate concerns, complaints, and grievances; report findings to the RN Supervisor or Director of Nursing
Provide and receive shift reports to ensure continuity of care
Conduct daily resident rounds to ensure treatments are being properly administered and to assess physical and emotional well-being
Keep leadership informed of resident conditions, staffing needs, and any significant developments

Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times
Address resident and family concerns promptly and in accordance with company standards
Ensure all resident rights are upheld and protected
