Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Biomed IT Equipment Integration Technician (Biomed/IT) to join our team. This hybrid position bridges Clinical Engineering and IT, with a focus on patching, cybersecurity, and technical support for medical devices and biomedical systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both biomedical technology and IT infrastructure. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the security, performance, and seamless integration of medical devices with hospital systems, while also supporting the maintenance and lifecycle management of biomedical equipment.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:: Associates or Bachelors degree in Information Technology with hands-on experience in medical equipment integration, OR a degree in Biomedical Technology/Engineering with extensive experience or education in IT systems and integration.
- Experience with integration of medical devices into hospital IT systems, including Capsule, PACS, DICOM, and imaging equipment. Knowledge of networking protocols, VLANs, isolated networks, and information security as applied to healthcare technology. Familiarity with EHR/PACS workflows and healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, DICOM).
- Strong skills in troubleshooting, repair, calibration, installation, and maintenance of biomedical or clinical IT systems. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across IT teams, vendors, and clinical staff.
- Ability to work independently, coordinate IT related project, provide in-service training, and support on-call/overtime needs. Licensure/Certification/Registration:: Preferred at least one or multiple of the following Licensure/Certification/Registration. CompTIA A+ IT fundamentals, hardware, troubleshooting. CompTIA Network+ networking, VLANs, subnetting, ACLs. CompTIA Security+ cybersecurity, patching, compliance. CompTIA Server+ server support and maintenance (optional but valuable). Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) networking, VLAN, IP addressing. Microsoft Certified: Windows Server/Endpoint Administrator Windows systems support. - Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): (Refer to CP 1.51): Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'Frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or University of Florida Health automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job.
