As a Sr. Financial Analyst, you will perform key financial analysis on strategic business initiatives to help drive proactive, value-added analytics to drive strategic business decisions. Key to the success of this position will be ability to perform financial analyses which will make sense of data from different sources and provide key insights and recommendations, obtaining the necessary data and information to ensure complete, timely and accurate analysis of financial information, and processes in a proactive and effective manner. The Sr. Financial Analyst will also need to successfully collaborate and partner with aligned business units to understand their business and provide various analytic support.

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as Lead Finance business partner for assigned business units: Provide accurate and reliable financial results and analysis, understanding underlying business dynamics and key operational drivers
  • Collaborate with senior management and departmental owners in the development of operational metrics/KPI’s, initiatives, ad hoc analysis, and reporting
  • Assist with business on monthly rolling forecasts, including variance and trend analysis
  • Synthesize financial results and business unit commentary into key themes for Executive-level presentations.
  • Build and maintain financial models that appropriately estimate revenue; Provide insights into anticipated trends using data and understanding of business drivers.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reporting (e.g., analyzing financial results; identify and understand key trends to assess current and future business risk; communicate variances and key themes upward and to appropriate audiences).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline processes and enhance capabilities; troubleshoot discrepancies, and partner on large projects.
  • Contribute to the identification of opportunities and actions to improve financial performance through creation of financial reporting and analytic tools
  • Represent Finance in data transformation and standardization efforts
  • Participate in the month- and quarter-end close processes that relate to billing/revenue.
  • Review of billing activity to ensure invoice accuracy and proper revenue recognition.
  • Apply professional skepticism and an inquisitive approach to assess invoices and contracts for appropriateness and adherence to SPS revenue recognition principles.
  • Demonstrate ethical responsibility, personal accountability, and responsibility for the integrity and reliability of data, modeling, and reporting.
  • Lead and/or provide expertise to ad hoc projects and analysis, as required.

Where You'll Work:
This role is hybrid (2-3 days), based out of headquarters in Minneapolis, MN. We Succeed Together through in-person collaboration, balanced with remote work to provide flexibility.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; a Master's degree and 3 years of experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Inquisitive, detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and a creative problem-solving approach
  • Ability to rapidly develop a strong understanding of internal data sources, including accessing, analyzing, and addressing specific questions with relevant data in an expedited manner
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency with financial planning and reporting software for SaaS solutions (e.g., Anaplan, Power BI, Salesforce)
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven ability to build effective professional relationships cross-departmentally
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects with strong follow through skills; capable of taking initiative in an ambiguous and changing environment
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills; ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Works well in independent or team environments; demonstrated team player with positive attitude
  • MBA preferred
  • Experience presenting financial data to Executive Leadership Teams
  • Familiarity with data analysis/visualization applications, such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with CRM and ERP applications (e.g. Salesforce, Oracle)

What We Offer:

The salary range for this role considers several factors, including education, relevant skills, work history, certifications, location, and more.

The annual salary range for this role is: $90,200 - $139,800 + Bonus. The actual salary offered will be determined based on the factors listed above and may fall anywhere within the range.
