*Responsibilities*
* Perform dental prophylaxis (cleanings), including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
* Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
* Take dental imaging such as X-rays and intra-oral photos while maintaining strict infection control protocols.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient records, treatment plans, and medical histories using Open Dental software.
* Follow HIPAA guidelines to ensure patient confidentiality and secure handling of medical records.
*Requirements*
* Valid Dental Hygienist license with current radiology credits.
* Proficiency in dental terminology and infection control procedures.
* Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of aseptic technique, infection prevention protocols, and sterilization procedures.
