Job Description
*Tallahassee Dental Specialists*, a restorative and prosthodontic specialty practice, is seeking a professional and detail-oriented *Registered Dental Hygienist* to join our team.
*Duties*
* Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
* Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current dental conditions.
* Assist the dentist during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to ensure efficiency and comfort.
* Take medical imaging such as X-rays, ensuring proper technique and safety protocols.
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lifelong dental health.
* Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Open Dental, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
* Follow infection control protocols with aseptic techniques to prevent cross-contamination and ensure a sterile environment.
*Skills*
* Proficiency in dental software such as Open Dental for documentation review and appointment scheduling.
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding for accurate record keeping.
* Ability to perform chairside assisting with precision while maintaining excellent patient rapport.
* Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques.
* Familiarity with medical imaging procedures and vital signs monitoring for comprehensive patient assessment.
