JOB DESCRIPTION
The K-12 Health and Physical Education teacher will be responsible for providing a student-centered, supportive approach in Health and Physical Education instruction for students in grades K-12.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Provides direct instruction to students in Health and Physical Education.
● Plans and executes lessons while maintaining a safe, secure environment.
● Provides instruction and supervision for two elective classes: Fitness for Life and Movement Break and Games
● Develops an ongoing working knowledge of each individual student’s educational and emotional needs.
● Effectively collaborates with learning specialists to integrate recommended teaching strategies.
● Communicates with families and establishes a collaborative relationship between school and home to promote physical and emotional wellbeing for students.
● Provides individual student assessment as needed.
● Shows evidence of adaptive and differentiated instruction for all students.
● Maintains complete and accurate records that are reflective of a student’s performance and growth.
● Develops and maintains genuine, positive, and consistent communication with parents.
● Contributes to and collaborates with the campus community.
● Practices professionalism through ongoing professional development, reflection, and continuous improvement.
● Participates in curriculum writing and other developmental programs and activities.
● Remains current in knowledge evidence-based instruction in health, physical education, and learning disabilities.
● Other duties as assigned.
