Description:     Position Summary : The Buyer is a member of the Purchasing Department responsible for the procurement of raw materials, supplies and equipment for the Huntsville Factory. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : 1. Receives, reviews, and processes purchasing requisitions. 2. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests for materials, supplies and equipment. 3. Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority. 4. Maintains procurement records for items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality and/or performance and inventory. 5. Thoroughly scrub bill of materials (BOM’S) to ensure pricing, quantity and product/material is correct and initiate corrective action when necessary. 6. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability and delivery schedule. 7.
