Under the supervision and collaboration of a physician hospitalist, the nurse practitioner provides comprehensive direct patient care and practice to include obtaining comprehensive patient histories, performing complete physical examinations, order and performing diagnostic testing and screening, diagnosing illness, prescribing both pharmacological and other treatments for patients, and providing health maintenance and promotion inventions such as patient and family education and counseling.   Graduate of an approved school of nursing. EMTs have the basic knowledge and skills necessary to stabilize and safely transport patients ranging from non-emergency and routine medical transports to life threatening emergencies. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response system, under medical oversight.
