JOB SUMMARY Working in conjunction with the Maternal-Child Director, Clinical Care Supervisor, and RN/LPN, the OB Tech performs a variety of care needs for patients in Labor and Delivery, Postpartum and Newborn Nursery, and Level 2 within the framework of the Wyoming Nurse Practice Act and the National Patient Safety Goals. The OB Tech assists the medical team with preparations for surgical procedures and during the procedures. Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients and ensure sterile field. Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens and delivery to laboratory according to procedures. Maintains inventory of sterile supplies. May assist in patient transport.
