Overview The primary functions of the Security and Safety Officer, responsible for providing and ensuring security and safety for members and employees across the cooperative, and to ensure compliance associated with regulatory laws and best practices/guidance. Pay range for this hourly position is $22.70 - $34.05, with a progressive benefits package. Responsibilities Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed and are subject to change: Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision. Demonstrates a positive member service (internal and external) focus at all times, greeting members and guests with a smile and eye contact immediately upon their arrival, using their name or acknowledging them, and thanking them for their business. Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities. Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis. Ensures confidentiality of member information. SECURITY OFFICER DUTIES: Responsible for development and maintenance of the Credit Union Security Program and ensures that it is administered per the appropriate rules and guidelines and is in conjunction with various departments. Will also have to coordinate with compliance and risk management as appropriate. Performs daily contact and guidance of the Credit Union's Security Prevention Program, including physical security. Develops and maintains policies and procedures with security including, but not limited to robbery, bomb threats, active shooter training, threatening members, etc., ensuring they remain in compliance with Credit Union controls and relevant State and Federal regulations. Implements, analyzes, and monitors training materials and support documents. Conducts, monitors, tracks, and maintains staff security awareness training. Conducts an annual unscheduled inspection at each branch location. Reviews monthly Security Inspection Reports of branch managers. Serves as the first point of contact and makes decisions concerning security issues of members engaged in threatening behavior or actions towards staff and GreenState property. Issues “No Trespass” or “No Contact” orders when necessary and makes decisions regarding the permanent banning of members and non-members from entering our properties. Serves as the primary contact for law enforcement / dispatch centers if an event is determined to be a true incident of robbery or other illegal activity. Develops and maintains appropriate security related equipment and devices at branch offices, ATM machines, HQ, etc. Makes decisions as to the strategic planning of devices needed, device placements, and conducts training for branch staff on device operations, protocols, and procedures. Coordinates with Facilities as necessary for implementation. Reviews and approves invoices for purchasing and installation of security devices necessary for the program. Researches suspicious activity reports. Maintains knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and keeps abreast of changes in the security field by attending conferences, seminars, and webinars related to Credit Union safety & security and developing/maintaining an external professional network. Responsible for gathering personal items of employees that have been relieved of duty and getting to addresses provided. Maintaining a security presence for the Financial Center, including access card permissions, non-appointment members, upset members, and overall security for all employees. Monitoring Security cameras systems looking suspicious behaviors internal and external. Trains employees in safety procedures Designs methods for appraising safety conditions in an office setting. Stays up to date on new state and federal health and safety regulations Runs emergency drills to gauge employee readiness. Addresses any workplace-related health issues and accidents Helps write company safety handbook.
