Post Doctoral Associate - Harris Lab Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science - Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh - (26000025) The Environmental Fatigue and Fracture Laboratory (EFFL) in the Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science Department at the University of Pittsburgh is a research group focused on studying the effect of extreme environments on the fatigue, fracture, and mechanical behavior of structural metals. Led by Prof. Zachary Harris, the EFFL maintains state-of-the-art facilities for executing mechanical testing and corrosion experiments, with a track record of delivering on both fundamental and applied research programs. This success is reflected in the diverse funding profile of the EFFL, which includes a broad range of both government (ONR, AFOSR, NSF, NRC) and industry (Novelis, Westinghouse, Ellwood, QuesTek Innovations, among others) sponsors. Primary Responsibilities Execute materials characterization and mechanical testing in support of projects related...
