Research Specialist Laboratory Research Technician II will perform experiments in a microbiology laboratory that are aimed at understanding the diversity and utility of Actinobacteriophages. Primary research responsibilities will include: isolation, characterization, and engineering of bacteriophages to various Actinobacteria including Mycobacteria, Gordonia, Arthrobacter, Microbacterium and Rhodococcus. Will also coordinate routine operations of lab. Job Summary Performs a variety of laboratory experiments and procedures. Prepares specimens. Oversees supply management. Operates and properly maintains equipment. Essential Functions Aseptic technique and microbiology skills; math and analytical skills; bioinformatic analysis skills; Requires microbiological techniques and skills in pipetting liquid solutions.
