This position will oversee quality, timeliness and completeness of data collection and submissions. This position will also act as liaison between the CRISRF and other participants such as the UK Precision Medicine Clinic, the MCC Biospecimen Procurement facility, M2Gen and outside vendors. This position will also be responsible for coordinating with the technical staff at the CRISRF to develop and maintain data collection applications specific to ORIEN participation and will ensure proper training in the use of the EMR, ORIEN data collection software and related systems. Job Summary Nursing Care Technicians in the Neuroscience Progressive Care/Stroke Unit at Chandler Hospital provide care primarily for adult patients, ranging from 17 years of age and older. Patient conditions include: isolated head trauma, intracerebral hemorrhage, spinal cord injuries, anoxic brain injuries, ischemic or hemorrhagic stroke, and diseases of the brain and spinal cord. This position works one on one with a Registered Nurse (RN) to complete delegated tasks and provide direct patient care such as: obtain vital signs, phlebotomy, documentation, assist with ADL's (activities of daily living), order and stock supplies, respond to patient call lights, unit orientation, and patient admission, transfer and discharge. Positions may also involve moving patients from bed to wheelchair or stretcher, or stretcher to treatment/surgical tables. Handling of specimens and delivery to labs and preparation of patients for surgical procedures may also be required. The primary responsibilities for this position consist of providing prompt, compassionate, and patient centered care in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment.
