The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for an Academic Advisor for the School of Community Health Sciences. The Academic Advisor is responsible for providing major and minor academic advising to prospective, new, transfer, and continuing students on general academic and specific degree requirements in individual and group advising settings. The advisor serves as a resource for all new and current students to assure that they are making timely progress toward degree completion. This position advises all students from freshmen through senior standing. The individual works closely with and assists the Community Health Sciences Director of Advising, Recruitment, and Retention with retention, advising, and recruitment activities. The Academic Advisor reports to the Community Health Sciences Director of Advising, Recruitment, and Retention.
Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years OR Master's Degree and one (1) year of related work experience.
Related Experience: Direct student contact, communication, knowledge of academic requirements and higher education policies and procedures; experience in a field related to academic advising or student services.
