Job Description

Scientific Writing

50% of this role will support Research Faculty and Staff Scientists in proposal writing for grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements to Federal, State, non-profit, and other sponsors. The majority of Coriell submissions are to the National Institutes of Health, and our team submits between 20 – 30 proposals per year. In addition, this role will serve as a support resource to work with existing Investigators and assist in writing, editing, and reviewing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, white papers, scientific communications, and reports. Experience in academic writing in biology and the life sciences is preferred.

 

Post-Award Grant Administration

50% of this role will support the management of post-award requirements for grants and contracts, including a large multi-project grant, such as annual reporting, budgeting, and subcontract management and oversight. This requires working with multiple teams to execute post-award requirements while meeting Sponsor deadlines.

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role has a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree and 3 – 5 years of experience in scientific writing of manuscripts and grant applications. Experience in biology or the life sciences is preferred. Administrative experience is desirable, particularly in grants / award administration. The ability to work independently, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under multiple deadlines are all required for this role.
