Responsible for the evaluation of academic credentials and the determination of domestic and foreign applicants admissibility to Florida International University's academic degree programs. The position is responsible for posting admissions decisions, completing detailed academic evaluations, determining the validity and authenticity of admissions documents. The position acts as a liaison to the assigned academic units as it related to the admission of graduate domestic and international students.

  • Serves as a liaison between the office of Admissions Operations and the college of Engineering and Computing regarding admission requirements and processing relations to the department academic programs. This position reports to Admissions Operations leadership and supports the admission and enrollment goals of the university.
  • Evaluates, interprets, and verifies graduate admissions applicants, academic credentials, test scores, and related credentials. Evaluates post-secondary accreditation authenticates foreign credentials, determining academic equivalencies, converting international grading systems to U.S. standards, and calculating GPAs. Maintains the confidentiality of records.
  • Reviews applications for completeness and contacts applicants to provide missing documents. Inputs all admission actions into the database. Ensures compliance with the Board of Education and University Board Of Governors guidance., Monitors and maintains student information in Panthersoft to ensure applications and processes are complete.
  • Interacts with academic units, One Stop operations regarding applicants within the admission process. Processes all graduate domestic and international applications, referring them to the appropriate academic departments. Recommends solutions to improve admission policies, procedures, office practices, and computer systems.
  • Assists with records maintenance, confirms the validity of documents, and ensures timely service in the admissions processing operation.
  • Remains up to date on evaluation standards, educational practices and the latest information on academic policy regarding graduate admissions standards.
  • Assists with trainings, reporting, planning and programming such as educational events, Open Houses and other activities with other Enrollment Services offices. Takes on additional assignments such as assisting students/parents in in person or on the phone at the Enrollment Services OneStop, including case management in SalesForce.
  • Assists the Admissions Operations leadership with identifying systems- based process and service inefficiencies; collaborates with leadership on projects aimed at improving applicant experience through the admissions process and supporting the academic units process and procedures.
  • Complies with admissions criteria as set by the Florida Board of Governors and the University Graduate School.
  • Performs other related duties as assign or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience using PeopleSoft or similar systems.
  • Experience using SalesForce or similar CRM.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with admissions processes within a large university setting.
