Job Summary:

Provides support to all departments within the Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU with duties related to graphic design, project management and operations. Develops creative designs and visual layouts for programs, exhibitions and departments, which will facilitate communication to students, faculty and external audiences.

  • Provides graphic design services to develop print and digital marketing assets including but not limited to, flyers, brochures, publications, ads, eblast, and web banners.
  • Disciplined in continuous research and development of design and production techniques and best practices.
  • Works with vendors in producing final specifications and quotes.
  • Collaborates with the other department divisions to create a unified brand look for the museum on multiple projects.
  • Leads special projects and/or events as needed to support the mission of the museum.
  • Implements design graphic standards and guidelines for the museum.
  • Follows best practices in regard to digital and print design in preparing final layouts for publication and posting.
  • Meets with departments to learn more about new project details and give progress updates on existing projects, communicating any issues.
  • Clearly communicates expected scope, timelines & milestones to stakeholders; escalates any issues and/or risk associated with projects.
  • Follows and supports the existing processes for managing creative projects.
  • Recommends the size, format, paper and all applicable specifications for all printed materials.
  • Designs select digital/printed advertisements and ensures all material is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Designs all museum exhibition type treatments and signage, including, but not limited to, exterior museum signage and wall vinyl.
  • Creates and executes production on exhibition materials including, but not limited to, publications, brochures, catalogues and rack cards.
  • Collaborates with all museum departments, including curatorial, education, development and marketing execute individual graphic design needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience. Must be proficient in Adobe Create Suite and requires a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experienced in Editorial Design.
  • Experience working in a museum setting is highly preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with the Asana project management platform is preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Adobe creative applications such as (InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Flash).
