Information Technology Manager

Manages Information Technology operations in an IT department or in a major function within a department or in a college or central unit of the University. Contributes to strategy within the department/unit and implements systems information technology policy. Establishes priorities, assigns functions, and maintains quality control. Reports to senior management on IT plans, projects, performance, and other related matters. Manages subordinate professional staff.

• Manages and provides technical design, implementation, maintenance, system administration, and support of hardware, software, network, and/or instructional technology in broad service areas.
• Manages and provides end-user support through consultation and advising, problem identification and resolution, training, and preparation/maintenance of documentation in broad service areas.
• Manages all infrastructure activities including testing, analysis of all technology components and systems facilities to ensure operational status, and manages all corrective actions necessary to provide adequate infrastructure performance.
• Develops and maintains policies, procedures, methods, and tools for area of responsibility, consistent with University central Division of Information Technology (DIT) policies and procedures.
• Provides advice to upper management and has direct responsibility for project and/or unit management, human resources, and budget administration.
• Serves as liaison between the department and the Division of Information Technology.
• Develops reports for the Enrollment Management Services (EMS) division as needed.
• Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, storms, and/or any other university emergency closing.  The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
