Job Summary

Provides event and project support. Offers insight on different AV event setups, as well as classroom technology design for AV device maintenance. Significant focus on Course Capture technology for recording as well as mobile recording setups as needed. Responsible for Level 1 tech support in instructional venues.

  • Assists in the operation of the College's Course Capture / Webcasting technology with significant focus on recording and live broadcasting in all College locations. This includes Mediasite and other course capture devices, microphone systems, cameras, switchers, joystick controllers, audio processors, servers, mixers, monitors, and any other equipment in support of classroom recordings.
  • Assists in the customer service process for all College faculty, staff, students, as well as University users by offering methods of communications and assistance. Practice of standard operating procedures for problem resolution, training and scheduling. Includes customer service e-mails, phone calls and website support system.
  • Contributes to setup designs for both permanent installations and event AV setups. Carries out projects as assigned.
  • Acts as operator and provides technological support for AV equipment at associated FIU events. Consults with Division of IT for FIU AV standards and practices.
  • Assists with the repair and maintenance of AV computer systems.
  • Consults with faculty, staff and students on proper use of associated technology.
  • Opens help tickets for technical problems encountered in instructional venues, events, conference rooms, etc. Provides level one technological support as needed.
  • Interprets University technological policies and procedures. Provides recommendations on procedures for the unit to improve technological operation for the College. Makes recommendations to management on appropriate application of as well as timely procurement of associated technologies

  • High school diploma and relevant training in related field. Two (2) years of experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Classroom AV Technology.
  • User Control Interfaces such as Crestron.
  • Certified Technology Specialist.
  • Experience with Course Capture Technology.
  • Ability to operate Projectors, Scalars & Switchers, Signal converters, users interface devices, cameras and audio amplifiers & processors.
