Program Description: HEART Therapeutic Classrooms
Whole child Education Achieving Relationships & results Together
*Services provided by Heartland AEA in collaboration with Winterset Community Schools
Overview & Purpose
The HEART classrooms utilize a trauma-informed approach grounded in equity, relationships, and regulation. The HEART classroom will provide intentional instruction and support to students with severe social, emotional, behavioral, and/or mental health needs. Relationships are at the foundation of everything we do, and we will work in partnership with children/youth, their families, and sending schools to empower children/youth to make healthy choices and thrive. The goal of these classrooms is for all students to return to the general education classroom as soon as they are prepared.
Substitute teaching opportunities available on an as-needed basis to assist Heartland AEA's HEART Therapeutic Program in Winterset.
