Job Description

About Opendoor
Founded in 2014, Opendoor’s mission is to empower everyone with the freedom to move. We believe the traditional real estate process is broken and our goal is simple: build a digital, end-to-end customer experience that makes buying and selling a home simple, certain and fast. We have assembled a dedicated team with diverse backgrounds to support more than 100,000 homes bought and sold with us and the customers who have selected Opendoor as a trusted partner in handling one of their largest financial transactions. But the work is far from over as we continue to grow in new markets. Transforming the real estate industry takes tenacity and dedication. It takes problem solvers and builders. It takes a tight knit community of teammates doing the best work of their lives, pushing one another to transform a complicated process into a simple one.  So where do you fit in? Whether you’re passionate about real estate, people, numbers, words, code, or strategy -- we have a place for you. Real estate is broken. Come help us fix it.
About the Team
As a member of the Strategy & Operations rotation program you will build the business, management, and leadership skills necessary to become a successful General Manager at Opendoor. This role will expose you to all aspects of the business - from customer success, to product and engineering teams. You will be a chief partner of the Divisional General Manager and lead projects to drive customer impact and bottom line performance. After a successful 12-18 months in this role, you will transition to a line leadership position within City Operations where you will manage front-line managers responsible for delivering home operations outcomes to the business. You will  ultimately progress to a regional general management role navigating cross-functional teams in stewardship of a 9-figure P&L.
This role is part of our City Operations leadership team, which drives the core business of Opendoor: buying and selling homes.  We are responsible for building a delightful customer experience and scalable process from the moment a customer first considers selling their home to the final happy touchpoint when we hand over the keys to a new owner.  Our team of 300+ sits at the center of Opendoor, working cross-functionally to build, improve and manage everything that touches our homes.  This includes home assessments, renovations, trade partner management, listings, negotiations and closing, among many others.  We both manage the business and seek continuous improvements to elevate how we serve customers across all of our existing markets while launching new markets and supporting adjacent products (e.g., Buy with Opendoor, Mortgage) that improve the customer experience.  City Operations is the best team from which to learn and immediately impact our core business and customers.

Role Responsibilities:

    • Design and lead cross-functional initiatives to identify and quantify strategic growth opportunities and operational improvements while building relationships with key stakeholders.  Help teams thoroughly analyze and evaluate the business impact from these initiatives.
    • Working with Regional Ops leadership, measure and improve our operational performance across a region.
    • Partner closely with Pricing, Product, Brokerage, Sales, and more to productize and scale winning innovations.
    • Lead regional strategy and operations reporting sessions, working closely with Ops leadership and our business analytics team.
    • Act as an extension of the Division GM, where appropriate, while learning the responsibilities of a general manager at Opendoor.
    • Provide data-driven decision making support and thought partnership to City Ops leadership on matters of strategy, team effectiveness, and operations.
For CO Residents Only, and in accordance with C.R.S. Sec. 8-5-101 et seq., the estimated base salary range for this role is $117K-149K per year. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position in question based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change.  Individual pay is based upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.  For questions about this, our pay philosophy, and other available benefits, please speak to the recruiter if you decide to apply for the role and are selected for an interview.
