About the Role

CrowdStrike is looking for a Principal Network Architect to join production networks. We are looking for someone who has a solid track record of building and operating hyper-scale hybrid cloud networks.

In this role, you will use your broad knowledge of infrastructure and applications, as well as deep understanding of networks, to develop approaches to scale our private cloud.  You will focus on strategic areas like establishing architecture patterns, automation, observability, performance tuning, and introducing new concepts and capabilities.  The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of how to build networks at scale to support private cloud, container, and virtualization technologies.


  • Develop network architectures and microservies that enable us to build and operate our networks at scale.

  • Collaborate with other systems and application engineering teams to align strategy, make technical recommendations, and improve network performance.

  • Drive major improvement initiatives from ideation to implementation, including funding, planning and providing support.

  • Define strategies to automate identification and remediation of network and application performance issues.

  • Create roadmaps to advance key service offerings and identity opportunities.

  • Drive engagement with vendors, analyze trends, news and changes in relevant technical areas.

  • Offer leadership, guidance and training to other team members.

  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotations.

Key Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in designing and building large scale networks.

  • Subject-matter expert in networking principles and protocols such as BGP, ISIS, MPLS, RSVP, VxLAN, EVPN, MACsec.

  • Significant experience with CLOS architectures, whitebox switching, and software based load balancing.

  • Working experience in building and managing connectivity on public cloud (AWS, GCP)

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code and deploying network configuration to large number of devices using automation frameworks (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Salt Stack, etc) 

  • Solid experience in hybrid cloud, and data center designs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with monitoring tools and event stream platforms a plus

  • Must be able to work with a distributed team across multiple time zones

  • Must exhibit meticulous attention to detail, and have the ability to make good, timely decisions

  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment
